1- ATTICA is a historical region of Greece, which includes Athens, the current capital of Greece. The history of Attica is tightly linked with that of Athens, which, from the classical period, was one of the most important cities in the ancient world.

+ Socrates, born in Athens in the 5th century BCE, marks a watershed in Ancient Greek philosophy. Athens was a center of learning, with sophists and philosophers traveling from across Greece to teach rhetoric, astronomy, cosmology, geometry, and the like. The great statesman Pericles was closely associated with this new learning and a friend of Anaxagoras, however, and his political opponents struck at him by taking advantage of a conservative reaction against the philosophers; it became a crime to investigate the things above the heavens or below the earth, subjects considered impious

+ Numerous subsequent philosophical movements were inspired by Socrates or his young associates. Plato chose Socrates to be the main interlocutor in his dialogues, which in turn formed the basis of Platonism and Neoplatonism. Plato's student Aristotle in turn criticized and built upon the doctrines he ascribed to Socrates and Plato, forming the foundation of Aristotelianism. Another of Socrates' young associates, Antisthenes, founded the school that would come to be known as Cynicism and accused Plato of distorting Socrates' teachings. Zeno of Citium in turn adapted and modified the Cynic ethical teachings into Stoicism. Epicurus studied with Platonic and Stoic teachers before renouncing all previous philosophers, including Democritus, on whose atomism his own Epicurean philosophy relies.

IMAGE: The School of Athens, or Scuola di Atene in Italian, is one of the most famous frescoes by the Italian Renaissance artist Raphael. It was painted between 1510 and 1511 Commentators have suggested that nearly every great Greek philosopher can be found within the painting, but determining which are depicted is difficult, since Raphael made no designations outside possible likenesses, and no contemporary documents to explain the painting. Compounding the problem, Raphael had to invent a system of iconography to allude to various figures for whom there were no traditional visual types. 2-ROSE or THE RENAISSANCE was a cultural movement that spanned the period roughly from the 14th to the 17th century, beginning in Italy in the Late Middle Ages and later spreading to the rest of Europe. As a cultural movement, it encompassed innovative flowering of Latin and vernacular literatures, beginning with the 14th-century resurgence of learning based on classical sources, which contemporaries credited to Petrarch.

+ Various theories have been proposed to account for its origins and characteristics, focusing on a variety of factors including the social and civic peculiarities of Florence at the time; its political structure; the patronage of its dominant family, the Medici; and the migration of Greek scholars and texts to Italy following the Fall of Constantinople at the hands of the Ottoman Turks.

Quote from The Third Man . http://amix.dk/blog/post/19591

+ When Nostradamus wrote this quatrain he lived in the time that we call the Renaissance. the Renaissance is based on the recovery and Updated knowledge of ancient Greece, for this reason he speaks of a rose blooming, I think.

By Albanians War, Lyon, Saturn one version (1, or "one changed like Saturn")

1- "One version" or "Universe" (Unus + Vorsum, latin contraction)
What is the etymology of the word universe?
+ The word Universe Derives from the Old French word Univers, Which in turn Derives from the Latin word universum. The Latin word was used by Cicero and later Latin authors in many of the same senses as the modern word is used In English. The Latin word Derives from the poetic contraction Unvorsum - first used by Lucretius in Book IV (line 262) of his De rerum natura (On the Nature of Things) - which connects one, uni (the combining form of unus, or "one" ) with vorsum, VERSUM (a noun made from the perfect passive participle of vertere, meaning "something rotated, rolled, changed")

+ Nostradamus could make reference to the current economic crisis in Greece.

+ By late 2009 it came to light that the global financial crisis combined with unrestricted government spending had led the Greek economy to face its most deliberating economic crisis with a budget deficit rising from 3.7% in 2009 to 12.7% of the GDP by 2010. By end 2010 the country's total public debts had skyrocketed to reach about 120% of the country's GDP.

 INFO : 1
+ THE CYPRUS DISPUTE is the result of the ongoing conflict between the Republic of Cyprus and Turkey, over the Turkish occupied northern part of Cyprus.

+ Initially, with the annexation of the island by the British Empire, the "Cyprus dispute" was identified as the conflict between the people of Cyprus and the British Crown regarding the Cypriots' demand for self determination. The dispute however was finally shifted from a colonial dispute to an ethnic dispute between the Turkish and the Greek islanders. The international complications of the dispute stretch far beyond the boundaries of the island of Cyprus itself and involve the guarantor powers (Turkey, Greece, and the United Kingdom alike), along with the United States, the United Nations and the European Union.

+ With Turkey's invasion in 1974 (formally disapproved by UN Security Council Resolution 1974/360), Turkey occupied the northern part of the internationally recognised Republic of Cyprus, and later upon those territories the Turkish Cypriot community unilaterally declared independence forming the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), a sovereign entity that lacks international recognition-with the exception of Turkey with which TRNC enjoys full diplomatic relations.

+ After the two communities and the guarantor countries have committed themselves in finding a peaceful solution over the dispute, the United Nations have since created and maintained a buffer zone (the "Green Line") to avoid any further intercommunal tensions and hostilities. This zone separates the Greek Cypriot-controlled south from the Turkish Cypriot-controlled north.

Beyond the dispute over Cyprus:

+ The Turks won all.
+ Cypriots are not supported from greece. Not help by the Greeks.

Constantine II or An option greek from Spain & Murder
(Constantine's older sister Sofia is the former queen consort of Spain.)

1st option CONSTANTINE II  (addenda 7 february, 2015)

The King of Greece & Colonels' Coup of 21 April 1967.

His reign soon became controversial: Constantine's involvement in the Apostasia of July 1965 created unrest among sections of the population and aggravated the ongoing political instability that culminated in the Colonels' Coup

The coup was successful, leaving Constantine II, as head of state, little room to manoeuvre as he had no loyal military forces to rely on. As a result, he reluctantly agreed to inaugurate the putschist government on the condition that it be made up largely of civilian ministers. On 13 December 1967, he was forced to flee the country, following an abortive counter-coup against the junta. He remained the head of state in exile until 1 June 1973, when the junta abolished the monarchy.

In June 1973, George Papadopoulos condemned Constantine as "a collaborator with foreign forces and with murderers" and accused him of "pursuing ambitions to become a political leader."

In July 1974, the events in Cyprus led to the downfall of the military regime

This abolition was confirmed after the fall of the junta by a plebiscite on 8 December 1974, which established the Third Hellenic Republic. Constantine was not allowed to return to Greece to campaign.

The republic received overwhelming support by the centrist voters who condemned Constantine for, among other things, swearing in the junta in 1967. They also blamed his reluctance to sever all ties with the junta once in exile, and the dismissal of the legitimately-elected George Papandreou administration (Apostasia of 1965), the event which some believed led to the coup.

Lydian Empire under Croesus. Wikipedia.

+ Due to its expansion into Ionian coasts huge cultural influence on the Ionians were the Lydians, in certain historical periods many historians consider to Lidia, if not part of the Greek peoples, at least highly Hellenized. This acculturation was mutual, although less intense by lidia, so musical developments, commercial and even literature and popular games Lydians were adopted by the Greeks, while the architecture, religion and clothing influenced the Greek Lydian. But Classic authors like Strabo, watching more differences than similarities, they concluded that the Lydians were not part of the Greek peoples.

A Greek princess of a family without Greek origins is now queen of Spain.

+Ancestry  (not greek):
Queen Sofía is both a great-great-granddaughter (paternally) and a great-great-great-granddaughter (maternally) of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom and is, through several lines, her husband's third cousin. She is a first cousin of Ernst August of Hanover, and through her great-grandfather George I of Greece, she is a second cousin to Charles, Prince of Wales but also his fourth cousin through Queen Victoria, and a third cousin of Queen Elizabeth II through another line from Queen Victoria. Through Christian IX of Denmark and Queen Victoria, she is also related to Elizabeth II and thereby related to all the royal families of Europe. She is also a first cousin once removed of Elizabeth II's husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Queen Sofia is of Hohenzollern descent through her mother, Frederica of Hanover, and through her paternal grandmother, Sophia of Prussia, and of Romanov descent through her father's paternal grandmother, Olga Constantinovna of Russia.

+ The  Median Wars (also often called the Greco-Persian Wars or Persian Wars) were a series of conflicts between the Achaemenid Empire of Persia and city-states of the Hellenic world that started in 492 BC and lasted until 449 BC. The collision between the fractious political world of the Greeks and the enormous empire of the Persians began when Cyrus the Great conquered Ionia in 547 BC. Struggling to rule the independent-minded cities of Ionia, the Persians appointed tyrants to rule each of them. This would prove to be the source of much trouble for the Greeks and Persians alike.

+ Following the fall of the Byzantine Empire to the Ottoman Empire in 1453, most of Greece came under Ottoman rule. During this time, there were frequent revolts by Greeks attempting to gain independence. The Greek War of Independence, also known as the Greek Revolution, was a successful war of independence waged by the Greek revolutionaries between 1821 and 1832, with later assistance from Russia, the United Kingdom, France, and several other European powers against the Ottoman Empire, who were assisted by their vassals, the Eyalet of Egypt, and partly by the Vilayet of Tunisia.
