MCCORMICK $ ?: ANOTHER TREASURE MAP

 AM  I  WRONG?

 "I noted the address on the mailbox of that house across the street from the entrance and it isn't 6035,...it's 6211...you could probably see that for yourself using google maps when you position the street view there."

Northern access, nomber 35, ERROR.

 Here is my first treasure map

++++++++++++++++

+ My initial interpretation of "35 HOME" was related to a building (next to northern access ) but I have to admit that this can have another meaning as "safe place" (baseball)... "Home plate, formally designated home base in the rules, is the final base that a player must touch to score."

 + It's a good time to re-read the work of Edgar Poe: http://www.readeasily.com/edgar-allan-poe/00137/001370070.php

+ The world has changed between 1999 and 2013.

Some things are created, others are transformed and others are destroyed ..
.. then there is nothing to do.

.
.... and words have several meanings.

 If there is no building or other sign with the number 35 there are only two options:
+
The distance between any entrance of the Park and St. Louis.
+ Wrong number wrote by Mccormick: 34, 36, 37 .....

look at the map: Marais Temps Clair Conservation Area

5134 Island Road
St. Charles, MO 63301

Option error :

+34 is the address of an entry to the park where are the headquarters and parking (5134 Island Road)

Option distance:

+ Between St Louis and the headquarters are 35 MILES  away ( 5134 Island Road access)

Go to see the captures from google maps
:
Between the point A and point B can be a distance of 35 miles?.

++++++++++++++
THE START -- Point A
++++++++++++++

1400 Chouteau Ave. St Louis, MO 63103 EEUU.
Here is the official residence of McCormick and his job at a gas station owned by criminals.

++++++++++++++
 ANOTHER ACCESS -- Point B  (southern access)

"35"   IS   35 MILES?
++++++++++++++

 + From point A (1400 Chouteau Ave. St Louis, MO 63103 EEUU)  to point B (5134 Island rd, St Charles, MO, 63301 EEUU)  is this distance according to google:

GOOGLE ONE

35,7 miles.

TO MARAIS TEMPS CLAIR CA
5134 Island rd, St Charles, MO, 63301 EEUU

GOOGLE TWO

35,7 miles

TO MARAIS TEMPS CLAIR CA
5134 Island rd, St Charles, MO, 63301 EEUU

+ The information provided by google is approximate and we ought to consider the changes made by man from one place to another.... and McCormick could have maps of the gas station.

... so the distance between a point and the other may be 35 miles.

+++++++++++++
MARAIS TEMPS CLAIR CA  HEADQUARTERS HOME
+++++++++++++

 + The observation of the place is necessary to understand the changes that may have happened or not.

+ I interpret now that "35 GLE" means "35 Home" and "Home" is the park headquarters. so from this point we should have 651 steps to reach the large center curve (according to my interpretation of Note 2)

+2 option: "35 6LE" means "35 same"(way to go to ....)

"651 M" = 651 MEASURES OR STEPS
+++++++++++++

 STEP? .... because it is the oldest and easy way to measure a large space.

 How much is a step in the U.S.?
..... a traditional unit of distance, equal to 1/2 pace. The step is traditionally equal to 30 inches or 76.2 centimeters. However, U.S. marching bands often use a shorter step of 22.5 inches (57.15 centimeters), so that 8 steps are made every 5 yards; this works well on American football fields, which have a chalkline every 5 yards. Using this shorter step is called marching "8 by 5."
According to http://www.unc.edu/~rowlett/units/dictS.html
 76,2 cm X 651= 49606,2 cm= 496.06 meter

or 49606,2 cm / 30, 48= 1627,5 foot

FOOT: Late in the nineteenth century, after both Britain and the U.S. signed the Treaty of the Meter, the foot was officially defined in terms of the new metric standards. In the U.S., the Metric Act of 1866 defined the foot to equal exactly 1200/3937 meter, or about 30.480 060 96 centimeters. This unit, still used for geodetic surveying in the United States, is now called the survey foot. In 1959, the U.S. National Bureau of Standards redefined the foot to equal exactly 30.48 centimeters (exactly 0.999 998 survey foot). This definition was also adopted in Britain by the Weights and Measures Act of 1963, so the foot of 30.48 centimeters is now called the international foot.
According to http://www.unc.edu/~rowlett/units/dictF.html

An example:  3159 feet

BUT   What if he has used another measure?
The mile original. the Roman mile "one thousand paces".

 The word mile originally derives from the Old English word mīl which in turn was ultimately derived from the Latin word millia meaning "thousand". The English mile was based on what the Romans referred to as mille passuum (Latin, "one thousand paces"), but the cognate term in some other languages – for example, Meile in German, mijl in Dutch – was based on the Romans' miliarium spatium (Latin for "one thousand ‘intervals’"), a significantly longer unit

The Romans, when marching their armies through Europe, were the first to use the unit of long distance mille passuum (literally "a thousand paces" in Latin, where each pace or stride was two steps). When marching through uncharted territory, they would often push a carved stick in the ground after each 1000 paces. Well fed and harshly driven Roman battalions in good weather thus created longer miles. After attempts to standardize, it denoted a distance of 1,000 average paces or 5,000 Roman feet, and is estimated to be about 1,479 metres (4,851 feet or 1,617 yards). This unit, now known as the Roman mile, spread throughout the Roman Empire, often with modifications to fit local systems of measurements.

.....Or some place in the park with the number 651.

Is a measure quite inaccurate, but rather an observation can help us to locate possible hideouts.

+ I Find a hiding place to spy wild animals  BUT is something that is done all over the world and in many different ways. The hunters also try to hide their presence.

 Hunter o Birder locations are good for other purposes.
I think the suitcase could be under the floor/ground.

Here are several examples of places of observation or occultation:

There is no rush, the suitcase will not move.

++++++++++++++
BUT
+ The note two has a major flaw, he could not go home and write a definitive note... ... so we only have a provisional
or perhaps incomplete notice.
